Yarns, Classes, Gifts

Upcoming Class Schedule:

  • Begin to Knit!:  Wednesdays and every other Saturday, 1-3 pm starting September 8th. This class is for any person who wants to learn to knit, whether young or young at heart! Children who want to learn, parents or friends that want to learn with them, everybody is welcome. Drop in any Tuesday night between 4:30 and 6:30pm, or Wednesday from 1 - 3pm and we'll get you set up with needles, yarn and start you on your way to becoming a knitter!
  • Sock Knitting:Wednesdays 4-5:30pm, 9/12 and 26 or Saturdays 1-3pm, 9/15, and 29. Come learn to knit socks using the Magic Loop method of knitting! You will need one 400+ yard skein of sock/fingering weight yarn and one set of #1 circular needles with a 40" cable.
  • Papillon Shawl: Tuesdays, 5-7pm, October 16, 30, and November 13; Saturdays, 1-3pm, October 20, November 3 and 17. Many of you might remember the fabulous Dream Bird shawl, swing knitting at it's finest. Papillon (butterfly), is another great swing knitting project. Short rows of self-striping yarns are separated by a contrasting solid yarn to give you the effect of a butterfly's wings. While this project looks challenging, the only skills required are to be able to knit garter stitch and count! And do German short rows, but that is super simple! If you are ready to try something a little different, come sit with me and I'll show you how it works! You will need 2 skeins of fingering weight, self-striping yarn (I'm using Uneek Fingering), a single skein of solid fingering weight yarn for the contrast color, and a long-cabled #4 circular needle. I'm happy to help you pick out colors with you!
