Upcoming Class Schedule:

  • Begin to Knit!:  Wednesday afternoon 1-3pm. This class is for any person who wants to learn to knit, whether young or young at heart! Children who want to learn, parents or friends that want to learn with them, everybody is welcome. You can start any Wednesday from 1 - 3pm, just contact me ahead of time so I know you are coming. We'll get you set up with needles, yarn and start you on your way to becoming a knitter!
  • Knitted Gnomes: Tuesday September 10 5-7p, or Saturday September 14; and Tuesday September 24 or Saturday September 28. Tuesday classes are 5-7pm, Friday classes are 1-3pm, please choose either a Tuesday or Friday class for each week the classes are offered. This little dude was a big hit with customers last year when I knit him, so I figured I'd offer a class so people could start making their own for gifts!  There are several different patterns with increasing levels of difficulty. The class will use either the Here We Gnome Again pattern (a little challenging with cables) or the Never Not Gnoming pattern (more basic but very cute!). They can be knit in multiple sizes using either worsted or fingering weight yarns. Pick you pattern and yarn, then use the needle size appropriate for you gnome. This class is suited for adventurous beginners (must know how to knit and purl) and any more advanced knitters looking to try some new techniques.
  • Mad’s Knit Hat: Friday 10/4, 1-3pm; Tuesday 10/8, 5-7pm; Tuesday 10/22, 5-7pm; Friday 10/25, 1-3pm. Pick any two dates and come join me to learn to knit the interesting textured stitches in Mad’s Hat. This class is suitable for an adventurous beginner and up, must know how to knit and purl prior to the class.  We will be carrying 3 strands of yarn at once to knit at a worsted gauge, 2 strands of fingering weight yarn and one strand of laceweight mohair/silk blend. This hat looks great with speckled colors, and highly variegated yarn. Come see what colors you can put together for your own one-of-a-kind hat!
  • Knit Belle Cowl: Friday 11/1, 1-3pm; Tuesday 11/12, 5-7pm; Friday 11/15, 1-3pm; Tuesday 11/26, 5-7pm. I am in love with cowls that are shaped like shawls but have no tails to contend with! This pretty cowl is knit out of a fingering weight yarn, I am going to use one with some sparkly bits added to it for an extra bit of bling during the dark winter months. This class is suitable for an adventurous beginner and up, must know how to knit and purl prior to the class.

Needle Felting Classes with Erin: Come learn to needle felt with area instructor Erin Ehlert-Maddocks! You may bring your own felting supplies (felting pad, felting needles, roving), or you may purchase supplies at the shop the day of the class. These classes are suited to beginner needle felters, or those who want to learn to felt these specific items. The classes are also suitable for children with good attention spans (the class will take all of the scheduled 3 hours). Classes are $25 (unless otherwise noted) and do not include supplies. All supplies are available for purchase at Kaleidoscope Fibers prior to the class if needed.
